James's Journey from an Assistant Manager to a Learning & Development Manager

Ever wondered what a career evolution looks like at Greene King? Meet James, whose adventure began in 2013 with a sparkle in his eye for the growth of our Hungry Horse pubs. 

Fast forward to today, and James has progressed into a Franchise Learning and Development Manager. In this role, he not only guides a stellar team but actively contributes to Greene King's franchise pub growth. 

It's a testament to Greene King's commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for those ready to seize them. 

Discover James’ career journey: 

Armed with a solid background in hospitality, he took the leap and landed an Assistant Manager role at his local Hungry Horse pub, laying the foundation for an extraordinary career.

From there, James received a promotion to General Manager at the Ancient Foresters in Wibsey Bradford. 

In 2014, James levelled up again to become a Designate Manager for Local Pubs, expanding his skills by collaborating with managers in Sheffield and Leeds. 

But James was just getting started. Fueled by his passion for simplifying intricate systems, he transitioned into the role of Retail Systems Trainer in 2019. 

And now is the Franchise Learning and Development Manager.

From Assistant Manager to General Manager at the Ancient Foresters in Wibsey Bradford, James's journey has been a whirlwind of successes. 

His pivotal role in the Integration team and subsequent stint as a Retail Systems Trainer showcased his knack for simplifying complex systems.
