What qualifications or experience do I need to become a chef at Greene King?
We welcome chefs at all stages of their careers. For entry-level roles, a passion for food, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude are just as important as formal qualifications.
If you’re applying for more experienced chef positions, we typically look for previous kitchen experience and a good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Relevant qualifications, such as NVQs in Professional Cookery, can be helpful but aren’t always essential. Above all, we’re looking for people who are motivated, reliable, and excited to grow their career in hospitality.
What training and career progression opportunities are available for chefs?
At Greene King, we’re committed to helping you build a long-term career as a chef. We offer structured training programmes, including apprenticeships and on-the-job learning, designed to develop your skills at every level.
