This is a strategic communications role, bringing clarity to how we balance communication responsibilities between the central communication team and the business divisions, including annual planning and delivery of the cross divisional events programme.

Job Description

In the role of Senior Internal Communications Manager you will...

  • Lead, develop and own the group communications plan including the annual events programme
  • Drive ownership and commitment from the divisions and functions to the group communication plan, ensuring key stakeholders have opportunity to evolve and contribute.
  • Partner with divisions and functions to identify where business priorities need to be communicated, help identify their audiences and work together to ensure clarity and planning of messages.
  • Work closely with the Senior Internal Communications Managers to influence the narrative and plans based on feedback from communicators in the business.
  • Ensure the business divisions and functions have the opportunity to influence the central narrative and communications plan by gathering and feeding back their views.
  • Suggest new and creative ways to effectively deliver messages to the right people in a positive and engaging way, based on experience and best practice.
  • Offer communication advice and guidance when required, to ensure best in class communication for our teams.

Track the effectiveness of communication activity in the divisions and functions.

What you'll bring...

  • Extensive experience in Internal Communications, working in large, fast-paced organisations
  • Proven planning and organisation skills and the ability to deliver across matrix teams.
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management abilities, with expertise in influencing
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, conflicting agendas and changing priorities · responsive and consistent in approach.
  • Pragmatic, practical and flexible with an ability to work under pressure with good humour.
  • Demonstrated capability in event planning and delivery including agency management
  • Insight-led in developing strategy to ensure that plans reflect the requirements of the business and audience
  • Exemplary writing skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt messaging according to the audience.
  • Good storytelling, with creative flair and innovative solutions - using communications trends and best practice
  • Digitally savvy with solid understanding of a range of communications disciplines.
  • 5+ years of internal communication experience in a national organisation.
