Job description

Scope & key interfaces

Outcomes and Key Performance Indicators

  • Governance and Compliance: Establishes governance frameworks and ensures compliance with project management standards. Monitors project performance and implements corrective actions when necessary
  • Strat Plan and AOP: Manages the annual 5-year IT strategy plan process and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) collation and submission, working closely with the IT Exec
  • Investment papers: Manages the schedule of Investment papers, working closely with the IT Exec to ensure all papers are submitted on time and to approved quality
  • Develop and implement uniform project management frameworks, templates, and processes to ensure all projects are managed consistently
  • Quality Assurance: Implement processes to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle (Monthly reviews, stage gate management, etc.)
  • Continuous Improvement: Owns the Triage process and drives related practices to improve quality processes and outcomes
  • Responsible for overseeing the change management process, ensuring that managers assume accountability for its execution
  • Resource Allocation: Manages the process of allocating resources efficiently across multiple portfolios and projects. Ensures that project teams have the necessary tools and support to succeed
  • Performance Reporting: Tracks and reports on the performance of IT projects, including budget adherence
  • Budget Management: Oversees the budget for the entire IT portfolio, ensuring projects stay within financial constraints
  • Provide support to IT leadership team with Project Financial Forecasts, Reconciliations and Budgeting Plans

The IT PMO Manager ensures the consistent execution of projects within Greene King IT. The role governs standardised project management practices, tools, and methodologies that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The IT PMO Manager monitors overall project performance, manages resource planning, mitigates risks, and ensures alignment with Greene King's strategic objectives, thereby fostering successful project delivery and continuous improvement across Retail/ Core IT. They will support with creating implementation roadmaps, org-level financial forecasts, and performance metrics, optimising resource allocation, and maintaining governance and compliance standards to drive project success and strategic growth.

Qualifications

Capabilities

  • A ‘can do’ attitude, tenacity, drive, initiative, and creativity
  • Experience in assessing and evaluating processes with strong competence in technical analysis and complex problem solving
  • The ability to deliver creative and innovative solutions to solve business problems whilst minimising cost impact
  • An ability to cope with fast paced environments, robust exchanges and multiple demands
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to clearly articulate concepts and ideas, challenge constructively and manage expectations
  • Exposure to Exec members and gravitas to influence and drive at all levels

 

Experience

  • Programme management experience with demonstrable experience in IT project governance would be preferrable
  • Experience as a Senior Project Manager managing large, complex projects or demonstrable experience within a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Strong budget management skills and experience of budget management and control up to £30m annually
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a retail environment, preferably within hospitality
  • Experience and knowledge of business change processes
  • Azure dev ops/ similar tool experience is advantageous
