Job Description

As a Head Chef, you will… 

  • Overall responsibility for the kitchen operation, achieving the highest possible food and service standards through your team and for our guests  

  • Take full responsibility for ensuring standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained, making sure food safety and health and safety policies and procedures are in place 

  • Communicate with all the team and develop great working relationships with all team members 

  • Most importantly, have fun and spread your passion with your guests and your team 

What you’ll bring to the kitchen: 

  • You understand the operations of a large, fresh food focused pub or restaurant, having had previous experience in a similar style role. 

  • Ability to maintain the health and safety of the kitchen environment and ensure we are fully compliant. 

  • Experience managing stock control, stock rotation and ordering. 

  • A natural leader and likes running big shifts with big teams. 

  • Great communication skills and is a natural communicator. 



  • Thrive on getting the best out of people and maximising commercial opportunities
  • Excellent kitchen management skills
  • Draw satisfaction from managing, training and supporting a team
  • Provide a professional catering service, ensuring that company standards are maintained and that Client expectations are met
  • Previous experience in a Head Chef role ideally in Retail Catering
  • Strong understanding of report writing and financial management.
  • Excellent supervisory and communication skills
  • Good delegation and influencing skills
  • Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
  • Hands on approach
