Greene King is undertaking a large-scale technology and digital transformation with this role playing a critical part in leading the modernisation of the IT function to enable the delivery and subsequent support of the business transformation. Reporting to the IT Director and being a key member of the IT Exec, you will play a leading role in defining the technology vision, ways of working and its implementation into the organisation. Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to innovate, propose and shape the enterprise technology designs that underpin the business strategy.
You will have experience in running a business-focussed Architecture function. Key is the ability to shape the transition to advanced technologies including, digital, web, integration platforms and applications to enable the organisation to transition to an enterprise data model approach.

As our Enterprise Architect you will...
- Create and implement a technology vision and roadmap aligned to the organisation strategy
- Own and drive the IT systems architecture to support the business strategy
- Drive the transition to best of breed digital technologies that improve processes across the company
- Provide direction on what technologies could be introduced and integrated to evolve and extend our existing proprietary technology and platforms, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of the changing IT and Digital landscape
- Design and develop unified visions for software and product solutions. You will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation
- Lead the Solution Architect function and create business architecture models that reflect our product and platform strategies and goals
- Create methods for compliance architecture, such as data storage, metadata management, and change control
- Implement architectural views covering people, process, information and technology that are accessible yet built with architectural rigour
- Understand business and commercial objectives, developing solutions that enhance and extend our product and platform offering
- Develop relationships with industry partners to identify opportunities to enhance the Greene King value proposition
- Work across IT and Digital teams as well as partners to develop implementation strategies to accelerate time to value
- Support the wider IT teams to successfully raise the organisation’s platform offering to the next level
- Be an active member of the IT Executive team and help lead the thinking and management for the department
What you will bring...
- Proven experience operating as an Enterprise Architect with a strong software development/applications/digital background
- Ability to shape and drive a strategic vision for technology with supporting target architecture and roadmaps
- Experience in managing, mentoring or leading others in a team environment
- Customer centric- putting the customer at the heart of everything you do
- Able to work under pressure to tight timelines
- A demonstrable passion and drive for technology modernisation, delivery, and best practice
- Ability to land culture change within the department and wider teams.
- Be able to define standards, patterns & building blocks within an architectural framework
- Ability to create and communicate logical solution designs, following key architectural principles to inform business cases
- Extensive experience of delivering in both an Agile and Waterfall environment
- Significant experience and widespread understanding across a broad range of technologies and architecture practices likely to include:
- Development and maintenance of full reference architecture, road-maps, target architecture
- Data Architecture, data platforms, master data management
- Cloud architecture and cloud migration
- Modern integration practices: Microservices, API, iPaaS
- Digital Architecture – web, mobile, headless apps
- ERP and Finance systems
- Legacy apps and legacy migration
- Full Software Delivery Life Cycle
- Physical hardware and networking
- IT Security principles and architecture
- Data Protection/GDPR
- Technology vendor landscape and vendor management
- Architecture governance processes & practices
- Development and rollout of policies, standards and guidelines
