This is an exciting opportunity to grab hold of a pivotal role within the Greene King Digital Customer Engagement team as we head into our next phase of digital delivery.   

To allow us to work at pace and deliver for the business, we are bringing the deployment of our CRM campaigns in-house and are looking for a proven CRM developer to help deliver on our ambitious targets. You will be joining the team at an exciting time as you help to unlock the potential of our marketing technology. 

Working closely with the CRM Technical Delivery Manager, you will use your developer mind-set to create dynamic email templates, efficient automations, whilst unlocking new features and developments – all backed up with brilliant documentation, to help execute campaigns to retain existing customers, increase brand loyalty and grow customer lifetime value – across our portfolio of brands and in multiple customer engagement channels. 

We are looking for someone who is agile minded, able to think wider than what’s in front of them, utilising their excellent developer skills to bring great customer experience to life through our CDP and marketing activation platforms.  You’ll need to be efficient and comfortable working in a more complex business environment as we work across a broad brand portfolio – in fact, if you’re someone who enjoys making the complex simple, you will flourish in this role as it is pivotal to help unlock team operational efficiency.

Job Description

This role is a Senior Professional (PT) Career Band

Your role as CRM Developer 

  • Working closely with the CRM team to understand their campaign and test plans to create and execute brilliant CRM journeys, campaigns and automations inside our marketing platform (email, web, app, loyalty). 

  • Support the implementation of new marketing activation platform through the effective and efficient implementation of planned campaigns which deliver against stretching business targets. 

  • Ensure scalability of solutions to allow us to service our portfolio of brands with ease. 

  • Hitting deadlines through strong project management skills. 

  • Ensuring all campaigns follow a test and learn approach – a champion and challenger mindset to support continuous improvement. 

  • Champion mobile first & responsive design in email. 

  • Create, and keep updated, great HTML templates and dynamic content modules within our activation platform. 

  • Work with the Customer Engagement Product Owner to maximise the use of existing features across the CDP and activation platforms as well as influence future product roadmaps. 

  • Develop strong relationships and work closely with different departments (e.g. digital products, data engineering, IT and customer data) to integrated new channels and data sources. 

  • Help the CRM team and stakeholder’s trouble short any bugs / incidents related to CRM activity. 

  • Create internal multi-use campaigns that help the CRM and digital team understand our campaign effectiveness more effectively (automatic campaign send logs and error triggers). 

  • Monitor the sending logs of all campaigns that are live, ensuring all data, segmentation and triggers are performing to brief and running as effectively as possible. 

  • Using the internal brand plans, effectively test, create, and develop new functionalities within the CEP to meet the marketing needs of the brand, and the usability benefit to our guests (new functionality). 

  • Effectively assist the transformation of legacy content in all areas of the business (data, content, design, campaign and development). 

What you’ll bring… 

  • Strong technical awareness and proficiency, 2 years+ particularly with marketing tools such as ESPs and CDPs – preferably Braze – 3rd party integrations and data delivery flows, with the ability to adapt to both strategic and hands on requirements. 

  • Familiarity with a mix of CRM channels (email, push, in product messaging etc) and how they are fed with customer data. 

  • Experience with setting up and carrying out fail-safe QA processes that safeguard you and the team. 

  • Able to confidently analyse and manipulate data and understand how marketing segmentation, reporting and tracking works. 

  • Proficient in coding, particularly: HTML, CSS/SASS, SQL, JS/JQuery and Shopify Liquid. 

  • Comfortable with other languages such as PHP Frameworking, Ruby, Python or other modern variable scripting languages. 

  • Proven experience in delivering a high volume of high-quality marketing automations that deliver significant benefit. 

  • Ideally some experience of working with an integrated DAM. 

  • Experience with creating campaigns with segmentation and personalisation. 

  • Ability to learn new system features quickly using documentation and instinctive research. 

  • A good understanding of how design and development combine. 

  • A solid understanding of how marketing platforms work – CDP and activation. 

  • Prior experience in delivering multiple CRM campaigns and working at pace. 

  • Ability to work within a team responsible for delivering campaigns across a number of brands – driving operational efficiency across the team.  

  • GDPR/PECR understanding and proven experience in applying data regulations to campaigns. 

  • You like to keep an eye out for the latest trends and developments in marketing technology and make recommendations to benefit the team.
