Job Description

 

As an Engineering Technician at our Belhaven Brewery in Dunbar, you will work as part of a small and welcoming engineering team and will have the opportunity to work on exciting capital investment projects as well as completing day to day and cyclical electrical and mechanical engineering tasks. This operational role will provide the site with multiskilled technical engineering support (electrical and mechanical) to keep our brewing operations running. As a team we strive for and celebrate success.

 

Working hours for our Engineering team are Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm, with occasional overtime available if desired. 

 

Your role as Engineering Technician

  • Undertake maintenance, repairs and improvements of electrical and PLC systems. This includes reactive and preventative maintenance to achieve plant reliability, performance and product quality
  • Knowledge of power and control systems, three Phase and different types of sensors, such as pressure and level control, flow meters
  • Provide Engineering support to capital investment projects and improvement projects
  • Small installation jobs and the supervision of external contractors involved in major works will be required from time to time
  • Working in a safe manner at all times, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and H&S policies

 

What you’ll bring…

  • Previous experience in a similar electrical role within a FMCG or similar environment. Brewery experience would be advantageous
  • An understanding of PLC systems and fault finding- Siemens S7, SCADA
  • Knowledge of power and control systems, three Phase and different types of sensors, such as pressure and level control, flow meters
  • Ability to remain calm and focused when working under pressure

Qualifications

Qualifications

Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications such as HND/HNC would be helpful to your success in the role, but are not essential if you have experience
