Assistant Manager

As an Assistant Manager / Bar Manager, you'll be at the heart of our management team, helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy pub while taking ownership of the bar operation. Working closely with the General Manager, you'll lead from the front, creating memorable customer experiences, driving wet sales, and developing a high-performing team.

While this role has a strong focus on the bar, it is also a key Assistant Manager position within the business. You'll support all areas of the pub operation, help deliver commercial targets, and take responsibility for the overall running of the site in the General Manager's absence.

What you'll do as an Assistant Manager / Bar Manager...

• Support the General Manager in all aspects of running the business, taking responsibility for the pub in their absence.
• Lead and develop the bar team to deliver exceptional service and maximise sales opportunities.
• Take ownership of stock control, ordering, wastage management and bar profitability.
• Support recruitment, training, coaching and performance management across the wider pub team.
• Drive operational excellence across both front-of-house and bar operations.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, licensing requirements, health & safety and food safety procedures.
• Contribute to labour management, shift planning and achieving business KPIs.

What you'll bring...

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Bar Manager or Supervisor within a busy hospitality environment.
• A passion for delivering amazing customer experiences and creating memorable occasions.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Experience managing stock, ordering and controlling waste and costs.
• The ability to think on your feet and adapt to challenges during busy service periods.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Knowledge of drinks, cocktails and premium products would be advantageous.
• Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.
