Company Description

As a Transport Team Leader, within a busy transport management team, you will be responsible for day to day operational activities within the transport department ensuring our customers receive best in class service from your team. As a line manager, you will be creating an engaged, motivated, performance-driven team with Greene King’s values at the core of everything we do.

Operationally, you will be managing a team of driver/dray crews, producing transport plans, line management and ensuring the Distribution Centre operates within its legislative and budgetary obligations.
But, this is an operational role with a twist, alongside the day to day, you will be involved in challenging the status quo by proposing new ways of working, looking at new technologies and bringing in fresh and innovative ideas to help our transport operation keep pace with our ever-changing industry.

Job Description

Your role as Transport Team Lead 

  • Line management responsibility
  • Strategically deploy resource to ensure maximum service levels adherence with minimal cost impact
  • Ensure company procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure formal personal development reviews are undertaken with regular 1-1 meetings, creating and reviewing
  • development plans.
  • Develop a culture of respect, high motivation and high performance within the transport team
  • Ensure employee performance is managed utilising all business tools available
  • Accident management, including remedial actions conducted
  • Professional standards maintained across team and equipment (uniforms, cleanliness of vehicles etc)
  • Implement Employee Engagement activities to increase employee satisfaction
  • Delivering performance to meet operational Key Performance Indicators for service, quality, health, safety and
  • environment
  • Ensure customer expectations are met at all times
  • Support the Transport Manager with forward planning, inputting into the plan and execution of any transport related
  • projects
  • Ensure compliance with working time and drivers hours regulations
  • Ensure tachograph information is managed in line with relevant regulations
  • Contribute to budgeting process including input into and adherence to transport budget
