As a Senior Commercial Finance Manager your role will play a critical role in the Brewing & Brands division of Greene King, central to setting on trade sales strategy, supporting pricing decisions and revenue management, while standing shoulder to shoulder with the business, influencing senior stakeholders as we supply around 6,000 customers. All while motivating and inspiring a team of 3 direct reports. 

This role provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced commercial facing role within an established forward-thinking business.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a great team on a hybrid working basis (50% office based/50% home working) from our Bury St Edmunds offices.

Job Description

Your role as Senior Commercial Finance Manager

  • A central figure in the setting of, and adherence, to the on trade sales strategy
  • A key member of the on trade management team
  • Budget setting, forecasting (in period forecasts & mid year forecast) & risks & opportunities schedule
  • Leading on trade period end review and sign off of results
  • Production of on trade periodic performance pack
  • Preparation of weekly trading summary with commentary to be shared with multi-level stakeholders
  • Commercial modelling on new business proposals, liaising with sales & marketing functions
  • Providing financial input to Free Trade revenue management through controls, processes and review
  • Manage the end-to-end Free Trade price increase process, as required, from planning and pre-analysis through to post-implementation review.
  • Leading the internal transfer pricing process to Greene King Managed & Tenanted pubs
  • Attendance of monthly on trade management meeting to present results and shape actions to drive performance
  • Multi-level stakeholder management within finance and wider business
  • Line management of 3 direct reports (1 x Senior Finance Analyst, 2 x Assistant Analysts)
  • Support the Head of Commercial Finance as required

 

What you’ll bring… 

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with meaningful post qualified experience
  • Positive and proactive with a passion to develop personally and support company growth.
  • Professional in demeanour and able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • An effective communicator and influencer, with the ability to build strong working relationships and present financial information to financial and non-financial senior management.
  • Flexible and adaptable to business change and fast paced, demanding environment.
  • Problem solving skills, including taking ownership of problems through to resolution.
  • Highly motivated - able to use own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • An excellent approach to customer service with the ability to manage expectations and conflicting priorities of key stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Hospitality, Retail or FMCG is desirable.
