Night porter

To ensure the smooth and safe running of the hotel during night hours by providing exceptional guest service, maintaining cleanliness and security, setting up function rooms and breakfast areas, and assisting with late check-ins and early preparations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Welcome and check in late-arriving guests efficiently and professionally.

• Provide assistance to guests during the night, ensuring their comfort and safety.

• Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and courteously.

Hotel Operations & Security

• Conduct regular walk-arounds and security checks of the hotel, reporting any issues or safety concerns.

• Ensure all doors, windows, and entrances are secure throughout the night.

• Monitor fire panels and follow emergency procedures when required.

Function & Breakfast Setup

• Set up and prepare function rooms according to event specifications.

• Arrange and prepare the breakfast area for the following morning service.

• Ensure all equipment, furniture, and supplies are clean, organised, and ready for use.

Cleaning & Housekeeping

• Carry out general cleaning duties throughout public areas, corridors, and back-of-house spaces.

• Maintain cleanliness standards across the hotel during the night.

• Assist housekeeping and maintenance teams by reporting any damages or required repairs.

Skills & Attributes

• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.

• Basic administrative skills for check-ins and record keeping.

Experience & Requirements

• Previous experience in a hotel or similar hospitality role preferred.

• Knowledge of basic health, safety, and fire regulations beneficial.

• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
