Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, the Mechanical & Electrical Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of HVAC, M&E, and Fire systems across our hospitality establishments. This role is dedicated to fostering sustainable, innovative, proactive problem-solving, and seamless collaboration between the Property project and surveying teams, repairs helpdesk, compliance and external contractors / suppliers to deliver exceptional service to our House Managers and Operational teams.

Job Description

In your role as Mechanical & Electrical Manager you will...

  • Manage and coordinate all reactive and proactive HVAC, M&E, and Fire repair strategies in alignment with directives from the Senior Procurement Manager, aiming to enhance efficiency, mitigate business criticality, and minimise disruptions
  • Oversee the procurement, ongoing contracts and supplier relationship management of HVAC, M&E, and Fire contractors / suppliers nationwide, actively monitoring their performance and KPIs with support from the wider Property and compliance teams
  • Conduct site investigations to address repetitive or inherent issues, implementing remedial works through alternative repair or planned preventative maintenance (PPM) strategies, including comprehensive conditional reports and costings
  • Develop and uphold maintenance specifications for HVAC, M&E, and Fire systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards
  • Provide seamless support and coordination with Project Managers, Regional Surveyors, Maintenance Technicians, Repairs Helpdesk, Compliance, and Pulse support teams to deliver a fully integrated repair and maintenance service
  • Spearhead the creation, planning, and management of sustainable, innovative, proactive maintenance solutions to enhance service quality, minimise breakdowns, and reduce reactive costs
  • Identify, trial, review, and implement environmentally friendly options across HVAC and M&E systems to reduce Greene King's carbon footprint and align with Greene King's ESG strategy and future UK Government Green initiatives

What you will bring...

  • Proven track record of managing mechanical and electrical systems within the hospitality or similar industry
  • Experience in procurement and contract management of M&E contractors and suppliers
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to HVAC, M&E, and fire safety systems
  • Experience in carbon emissions calculations and reduction strategies

Qualifications

A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or related field or a related discipline would be advantageous, but not a requirement.
