We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our bustling kitchen team in London, United Kingdom. As a vital member of our culinary operation, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly by keeping it well-stocked and impeccably clean
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and adhere to safety regulations to guarantee the wellbeing of the entire team and our guests
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure they have all necessary equipment and utensils
- Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment both manually and using industrial dishwashers
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
- Keep storage areas tidy and organised, rotating stock as needed
- Support the chef team by cleaning work stations, floors, and other kitchen areas throughout the shift
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain a sanitary waste management area
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients
- Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to support the team
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when required
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Strong attention to detail in cleaning and organising tasks
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential
