Finance Business Partner

Our Pub Partners L&T business delivers c.£100m of net income annually, with a large proportion generated through margin & rental income. This role sits at the heart of that performance — turning commercial strategy into financial insight and helping the business understand the drivers behind volume, margin, and profitability.The Commercial Finance Business Partner will play a critical role in driving the financial performance of Pub Partners by supporting the delivery of this drink margin through insight and analysis that ensures the business understands and can influence the drivers of performance.  This position will act as a business partner to various departments but in particular the Operations team and the Commercial team, providing insights, analysis and challenge. 

The position plays a critical role in translating commercial strategy into financial outcomes, identifying opportunities to improve profitability while supporting sustainable volume growth.

Your role as Finance Business Partner 

• Business Partnering 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Commercial and our Executive Teams to understand business drivers and impact on gross margin. 

• Provide financial support and guidance to drive gross margin improvement initiatives. 

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on gross margin strategies and decisions. 

• Financial Planning, Budgeting and Analysis 

• Analyse volume and gross margin performance, identifying key drivers and trends.

• Prepare and present detailed gross margin reports to senior management. 

• Monitor and report on gross margin variances and provide actionable insights. 

• Lead the gross margin budgeting and forecasting processes. 

• Ensure accurate and timely financial projections and variance analysis. 

• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making. 

• Other 

• Support strategic projects and initiatives aimed at improving gross margin performance. 

• Work with IT and BI to enhance data integrity and reporting capabilities. 

What you’ll bring… 

• Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). 

• Experience in commercial finance or finance business partnering. 

• Strong analytical skills with experience in volume and margin analysis. 

• Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders. 

• Strong financial modelling and forecasting capability. 

• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
