Job description
As a Workforce Management Analyst based from our Burton On Trent offices (hybrid) you will be responsible for the models and processes that determine how many labour hours each of our pub needs, as well as generating insights and providing analytical support for the business on effective labour deployment. With a passion and aptitude for data, coding and analysis, you will work closely with the Workforce Management Partners to define and deliver the strategy for the function. Inquisitive, with a continuous improvement mindset, your skill and enthusiasm in identifying, quantifying and delivering opportunities will be key in driving efficiencies across the business.

This is a manager (M2) salary band role
In your role as Workforce Management Analyst you will...
- Own the models that determine how many labour hours our pubs needs. This includes maintaining accurate inputs, managing and updating model assumptions, changing code and validating outputs
- Work closely with the Workforce Management Partners to ensure system configuration and workload rules are accurate and up-to-date, diagnosing and resolving any issues
- Play a critical role in the annual budgeting process, working closely with Finance to provide forecasted hours by pub, backed up with clear rationale and commentary
- Conduct analysis on deployment, running scenario modelling, highlighting opportunities and risks, and building business cases for change
- Enhance workforce models, systems and reports, and supporting the implementation of the development roadmap
What you’ll bring…
- Advanced Excel user, able to confidently write, modify and troubleshoot VBA code and macros
- Extensive experience working with data and generating insights in an analytical-orientated role, ideally in an operational context
- Great communicator who can tailor their message to different audiences and build effective relationships
- Strong problem-solving skills, working with pace and tenacity to own and resolve issues
In addition, knowledge / experience of the following would be a distinct advantage:
- Reporting software and applications (in particular, Cognos and Power BI)
- Coding / programming languages
- Workforce management processes and systems, particularly within a hospitality / service industry
Technical skills:
Essential
- Advanced Excel user
- VBA coding – creation / modification
- M Language / Power Queries
