Reporting to the Head of Repairs & Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician Manager is a national role co-ordinating and managing the regional maintenance technician teams to deliver a cost effective, customer focused service to the House Managers, Area Managers and Surveyors; helping to fix repair issues on site to help our sites maximise trade.

Job Description

As our Property Maintenance Technician Manager you will...

  • Manage a geographically spread team of field based skilled maintenance technicians with Senior Maintenance Technicians as direct reports along with a BSE based administrator/co-ordinator
  • Ensure the team investigate, resolve, and complete all assigned property related repairs to meet business expectations and priorities with minimum impact on business operations
  • Carry out visual audits of works carried out by the Maintenance technicians, ensuring work is to a high standard and working practices are safe.  Review & audit the purchase of materials & tools as well as carry out regular stock takes
  • Ensure all repairs are carried out to the highest level of health & safety and adhere to the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Ensure the team are working to a set standard of Greene King’s Safe System of Works and provide training and toolbox talks as required to keep them aware of HSE changes
  • Monthly KPI and budget reporting
  • Implementation of the agreed roll out of new maintenance teams as well as looking for areas of scale
  • Carry out all aspects of people management
  • Fleet management, ensuring all vehicles are in a safe condition & are roadworthy

What you'll bring...

  • Experience of multi-site business operation ideally with a national remit
  • Effective listening and questioning skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and/or qualifications as a Contracts Manager, Site Agent, Clerk of Works, or Surveyor
  • General Business/Property knowledge desirable but not essential such as understanding of leases, planning, conservation areas, etc
  • Outstanding work planning skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and achieve within tight deadlines
  • Ability to act on own initiative
  • Effective inter-personal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver consistently under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • A passion for the industry and history of providing a first-class service to customers ideally within the Pub/Hospitality sector
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the H&S, service and regulatory standards expected of the role. Knowledge of maintenance processes and relevant legislation
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Demonstrate Greene King Values and Behaviours
  • Previous experience of managing direct labour force
