Company Description

As a Management Accountant your role will be based from our Bury St Edmunds offices on an agile working basis (50%).  Your role will be to perform month end accounting processes, prepare balance sheet reconciliations and be responsible for the deliver of high quality reports.

Job Description

Your role as a Management Accountant...

  • Perform month end accounting processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial information.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all balances are supported, highlighting any risks or opportunities and actioning all differences in the control accounts promptly.
  • Responsible for the delivery of high-quality reports, information and commentary to provide insights to enable the business to make effective strategic and operational decisions.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are implemented in accordance with GAAP principles and comprehensively documented to establish a robust controls environment.
  • Support the internal and external audit processes
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of source data, and the structure and use of financial information from core systems which feeds into the financial statements.
  • Understand the impact of operational changes to procedures and core business systems to ensure correct accounting treatment and up to date posting books.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting or projects as required.

Qualifications ...

  • Part qualified and actively studying for a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA is preferable. QBE will be considered.
  • Experienced with finance and ERP software together with a strong knowledge of reporting tools such as Excel and PowerPoint (Power BI would be an advantage but not an essential)
  • Large company experience is an essential
  • Knowledge of the retail and hospitality industry is an advantage.
