As a Management Accountant  you will support the R2R Manager and colleagues in the R2R team and provide support to the Greene King divisions.  The role holder will be responsible and accountable for their contribution to the production of accurate and timely management accounts, and the integrity of all balance sheet accounting on behalf of the Managed division.  At the heart of the role’s purpose is ensuring FSS teams achieve internal and external audit compliance and deliver excellent service to all stakeholders.

Job Description

Your role as Management Accountant...

 

  • Perform month end accounting processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial information.
  • Provide effective narrative to ensure the key financial information and balances can be interpreted correctly and that the divisional finance teams understand their risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare meaningful balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all balances are supported and ensure that no un-actioned differences remain within any balance sheet control accounts for more than one quarter.
  • Responsible for the delivery of high-quality reports, information and commentary to provide insights to enable the business to make effective strategic and operational decisions.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal customers, ensuring that high quality financial information is provided to decision makers.
  • Provide timely responses to queries received relating to month end processes.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across Greene King to build strong relationships and ensure effective financial reporting support is provided across the business.
  • Ensure that the FSS finance team maintain financial records and systems in accordance with GAAP principles and perform comprehensive document reviews to ensure Internal Controls are followed in accordance with company established guidelines, policies & procedures, and ensure that a robust controls environment is in place.
  • Support the external audit process and provide responses to any related queries to ensure the audit process is conducted smoothly and accurately.
  • Support the end-to-end review of processes by suggesting ideas for improvements that could benefit reconciliations through enhancing systems and processes.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of source data, and the structure and use of financial information from core systems which feeds into the financial statements.
  • Understand the impact of operational changes to procedures and core business systems to ensure correct accounting treatment and up to date posting books.
  • Assist with any operational or accounting projects initiatives as required and carry out ad-hoc analysis to deliver key operational/management information to differing audiences to help support decision making.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications ...

     

    • Qualified by experience, newly qualified or close to completing a relevant professional accounting qualification, CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
    • Experienced with finance and ERP software together with a strong knowledge of reporting tools such as Excel and PowerPoint (Power BI would be an advantage but not an essential)
    • Able to meet deadlines, prioritise workload and deliver high quality financial information
    • Large company experience is an essential
    • Knowledge of the retail and hospitality industry is an advantage.
