As Assistant Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our management team helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy pub. From the moment you step through the door, you lead by example making sure our Customers, and teams, have a great time.

About the Role

In the heart of the Surrey village of Shere, nestling amongst lovely half-timbered buildings, close to the tiny bubbling River Tillingbourne; is this former 13th century farmhouse, 17th century Alehouse and Inn, now Grade II Listed Building 'The White Horse'.

It's hard to imagine an English country pub more idyllic. Set against the backdrop of the North Downs, low-beam timbers from Nelson's HMS Victory, secret smugglers cellars, an inglenook fireplace, all make up this Pub full of heritage. Inside are two dining rooms that can be hired out for private functions and plenty of nooks and crannies set the scene for romantic dining whilst outside, a shaded courtyard ensures the perfect setting for eating al fresco. One of Hollywood's most romantic films ‘The Holiday,' starring Cameron Diaz and Jude Law, was shot here. In fact, the charms of Shere have lured the creators of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral,' ‘Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason,' and ‘The Wedding Date', and ‘Molly Moon' too.

Job Description

What you'll do as an Assistant Manager...  

  • Support the General Manager in the day to day running of the business and leading the business in their absence.   

  • Bring our brand to life by leading the team in delivering amazing experiences for our customers  

  • Act as a role model for the team support with training and development  

  • Be a champion of brand standards & ensure customer & team safety at all times
