Engineering Technician (Electrical) - Belhaven

Role Purpose
The Dunbar site is the the home of the historic Dunbar Brewery that has recently celebrated its 300th Birthday and prodcues the well loved Behaven beers. This operational role will provide multiskilled technical engineering support with a strong bias on Electrical capabilities to the site. Planned Maintenance is undertaken from Brewing through to the kegging process. The main purpose of the role is to provide a technically astute, willing and flexible attitude to the requirements of the Brewery in a positive forward thinking manner. We are looking for someone who strives for and celebrates success. You are likely to be of the mindset that only the best will do.

Key Accountabilities
*Fast response time attitude to any breakdown or stoppage in production.
*Able to generate ideas to prevent breakdown reoccurrences.
*Able to analyse and fault find up to 400v a.c.
*Diagnosis of machine and process faults including pneumatic circuits, process equipment, pumps, valves etc.
*Prepared to be trained to develop knowledge of existing and new equipment.
*Coach team members to develop their base knowledge with yours.
*Lead safe working practices by using the associated safe systems of work at all times.
*Provide Engineering support to capital investment projects, packaging projects and improvement projects.
*Working in a safe manner at all times, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and H&S policies.
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively work alone and part of a team.
*Undertake contractor control measures as and when required.
*Undertake maintenance, repairs and improvements of the electrical and PLC systems. This includes reactive breakdown and preventative maintenance to achieve plant reliability, performance and product quality.
*Planned Preventative maintenance of plant on site with a willingness to undertake mechanical maintenance on a regular basis should assistance be required.
*Small installation jobs and the supervision of external contractors involved in major works will be required from time to time.
*Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar electrical role within a FMCG or similar environment. Brewery experience would be advantageous.
*Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship and attainment of an appropriate electrical engineering qualification is desireable.
*An understanding of PLC systems and fault finding- Siemens S7, SCADA.
*Knowledge of power and control systems, three Phase and different types of sensors, such as pressure and level control, flow meters.
*A good understanding of Health & Safety and Environment, with an excellent track record to working safely.
*Experience in pneumatic, HVAC/ refrigeration and hydraulic system repair preferable.
*Ability to remain calm and focused when working under pressure.
*Willng, Flexible, Positive attitude, technically astute are qualities very much desired.
*Flexible approach to working hours to suit production demand which may include weekend working at times.
