Senior Credit Controller - Brewing & Brands

Role purpose:

Our Senior Credit Controller will assist in supporting a team of Credit Controllers to provide a full credit control service to a designated group of customers. Also, dealing with the more complex customer/issues and being the front line of our customer relationships both internal and external

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day credit control for a designated group of customers, usually more complex than those of a Credit Controller and across multiple ledgers.
  • To communicate regularly with SDM, Commercial and Credit Control Manager on all matters relating to credit control. Explaining updates/news to the team where awareness for all is appropriate
  • Ensuring correct administration of customer accounts.
  • Day to day administration support e.g. copy invoices, statements etc.
  • Dealing with any queries escalated by the Credit Controllers.
  • Liaise with the Legal team and ensure the necessary actions take place in regard to irrecoverable debt.
  • Maintain loadings register, ensuring payments are made in conjunction with other debt.
  • Processing Direct Debits and running weekly failed DD Macro
  • Weekly reporting including Disputed invoices / Unallocated Cash
  • Period end preparation including reconciling accounts
  • People management of 1 direct report - responsibility for training, leave approval and carrying out regular 1-2-1 meetings
  • Provide cover for Credit Control Manager where required. Eg. attending meetings, bespoke reporting etc.

About you…

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to train others within the team
  • Strong customer service ethos
  • IT literate (Outlook, Word, Intermediate Excel).
  • Experience with ERP system preferred
  • Credit Control experience essential
  • Understand impact of trading peaks on available credit limits/requirements to release orders
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to business change
  • Able to work well under pressure and prioritise own workload
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Takes ownership of problems through to resolution
  • Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
