Application Support Manager - fixed-term contract (14 months)

Full-time, permanent position Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:15pm

We have a new exciting opportunity for an Application Support (AS) Manager to join us on a fixed term contract for 14 months to cover a secondment. This role will play a crucial part in the success of the AS teams over the next 14 months and we're looking for somebody who is passionate about people as well as delivering excellent customer service to stakeholders.

The primary role for this position is to lead the AS teams. There are 3 teams: the HR Information System team, the core application team and the CRM and SQL team with 11 direct and indirect reports. These teams are support all the non-retail IT applications across Greene King. This includes systems such as HR & Payroll, Training, ERP, Warehouse Management and in-house developed solutions.

Key tasks:
Manage our application portfolio to maintain our ambitious system uptime targets, whilst ensuring systems are upgraded, patched and maintained in a proactive and timely manner.
Deliver on agreed incident SLA's and ensure all the issues are fully understood, managed and resolved.
Proactively target root cause to minimise the volume of issues and improve the customer experience of applications.
Work closely with internal IT development and Infrastructure to improve system performance, reliability and usability.
Manage 3rd party suppliers, chairing supplier reviews and continuous improvement programmes.
Manage the workload of the teams BAU processes whilst acting as SME's on important and strategic projects.

Essential skills:
ITIL Practitioner
Experience in a running a high performing team with excellent motivational skills
Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
Understanding of GDPR, PECA and data protection regulations
Problem solving and out of the box thinking

Desirable Technical Skills:
System 21 Aurora or similar ERP knowledge
Indigo, iWMS Warehouse Management Systems
Microsoft Dynamics CRM knowledge
Decision Making
Hard working with the ability to work under pressure
Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
Strong communication skills with high standards of customer service/focus
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills and ability to work to deadlines.
Effective influencing skills
Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment.
Diligent with a keen attention to detail
Persistent and tenacious
High level of accuracy with attention to detail
A "can do" attitude.
